Patty Griffin was once (briefly) a foster parent to Maia.

Upon Maia's return, Patty and Kenneth Griffin opted to take her under foster care. However, her chilling predictions, one of which included where the Griffins will be buried, forced them to rethink this. While Kenneth was adamant that they return Maia, Patty insisted that they give her some more time. However, Kenneth eventually took Maia back to quarantine. Patty tells Maia that none of what happened was her fault, and that the reason she was returned was simply because the Griffins weren't ready to have kids.
