Tess Doerner was able to mentally dominate the minds of others and compel them to do her bidding. She does not need to speak or make eye contact to place them under her control, just be in there immediate presence. She was easily able to control groups of people at a time and could choose whether or not they remembered their experiences under her control. Tess could choose to manipulate thoughts and perceptions or just a persons body. She inspired an intense need within the staff, patients and NTAC agents at the mental hospital she was a patient in to participate in the construction of a device to awaken Kevin Burkhoff, using their own skills and capabilities and even arguing with each other over complications with the construction. Conversely she was able to manipulate the bodies of the attendants in a dinner to dance for days on end as they were clearly horrified and exhausted by the experience.
